Strada Bricco is really important because within 5/6 km and even with a couple of small stretches it guarantees a relatively safe and peaceful passage from Nice to Castelnuovo Calcea.
On the way there is also the beautiful little church of the Madonna della Neve. I highly recommend this road because it will save you the passage on the usual busy provincial 456 del Turchino.

View of the town from via Alfieri shortly after passing the small church of San Rocco. The town church dedicated to Santo Stefano and the remains of the castle are visible.

The dirt roads between Asti and Alessandria, if practicable, are excellent. No traffic and you cycle between the river and greenery.
