The Coach House

Highlight • Restaurant

Recently reopened by new owners after a huge revamp (mid 2021)

A local hotspot with plenty of outside seating. If visiting in a group over 6 its worth calling ahead to give them warning, worth letting them know when ordering if you intend to pay separately as it helps them out and speeds the process up, rather than telling them at the end.

Three different menus depending on the time you visit. A firm favourite of mine is the eggs benedict. The espresso I had today was nice and was not over or under extracted.

Toilets inside as well as public toilets the other side of the car park. Walking distance to Romney Cycles if mechanical support is needed.

Cash and card accepted.

St Mary in the Marsh Church

Highlight • Historical Site

One of the most picturesque churches on the Marsh, St Mary the Virgin was built in the mid 12th century with a small chancel, nave and tower. As with so many Marsh churches, the aisles were added in the 13th century to accommodate an increasing number of guild and chantry altars. Outside, in the south wall of the chancel, a priest’s door remains with a medieval scratch dial carved on the right hand door jamb. In the churchyard, simple wooden posts and a rail mark the grave of E. Nesbit, author of The Railway Children and other children’s books.

The Coffee Lounge Dymchurch

Highlight • Cafe

Long overdue visit here as people keep recommending it.

Nice coffee and really good breakfast. Cake selection looks good.

Has a bike rack for 4 or 5 bikes with space over the road at number 9 (within eyesight) for more bikes. May be worth calling ahead if arriving in groups larger than 5/6.

Nice friendly staff and have a card machine. Didnt see if they have toilets but assume they would, if not then public toilets are a few hundred meters away in the main highstreet.

Well worth a visit if passing. Up to date hours etc on their Google page or Facebook facebook.com/the.coffee.lounge.dymchurch

The Star Inn

Highlight • Pub

Fabulous country pub on a great ride. Also look for the Milk hut at Honeychild Farm (500 meters further along the road) which sells raw milk and other dairy products.
