An ancient bridge over the River Trent that also marks the most southern point of Bonnie Prince Charlie's advance on London. He reached the bridge, had second thoughts and returned to Scotland. The bridge has far too much heavy traffic and, as it is ancient, has a varying width. Take great care if cycling across the bridge - better is to take the quiet road to the west alongside the river to Ingleby.

Small cafe with a large outside area next to the canal. Excellent place to stop particularly when the weather is good and you can use the outside area.
