Apart from being a nice building, the "Glavni Kolodvor" is the Zagreb's central railway station. Zagreb doesn't have such perfectly organized local trains network as let's say Vienna, but there are tracks and there are some local trains available. With a little bit of planning, it's possible to take a bike on the local train for a day trip around Zagreb, e.g. to Jastrebarsko or Turopolje.

Prices are OK, time tables less so and some of the older trains can be a bit challenging to get into (stairs), but it's IMO worth a try.
