Birkensee (Schwanberg)

Highlight • Lake

It is interesting that the water supply to the Birkensee has not yet been discovered. I like the island very much and there is also seating with a table for a picnic. Just take a seat and enjoy.

The main entrance to the castle park leads up a flight of stairs past two figures into the toboggan.
These two figures are the famous legendary figures of the Schwanberg
-Hadeloga and Pippin-
and were set up as stone guardians.

St. Michael's Church Schwanberg

Highlight • Religious Site

The Schwanberg is the headquarters of the Evangelical-Lutheran religious community of Casteller Ring, which lives in the spirit of the rule of St. Benedict. About 25 sisters live and work here. The St. Michaelskirche, consecrated in 1987, is the spiritual center of the community. The center of the church is the altar with its heavy granite slab, which is carried by eight angels with their hands raised. A tour of the church with a wonderful description can be found here: ccr-schwanberg.de/st-michaelskirche. The bells (including visitors and guests) invite you to pray for the hour four times a day. Thousands of people come to the Schwanberg each year to experience the spiritual and family atmosphere, spiritual orientation and community that emanate from the hourly prayers and church services. The three guest houses are ideal for groups, meetings and family stays.

Beautiful running route if it's too uncomfortable to ride💚 But be careful of roots and rocks under leaves (I got to know the ground twice🤪🤣)

The only one of the dream routes that you can jog without any problems. The advantage of the Schwanberg route is that you're running around shade the entire time.
