Isar Trail in the Wetterstein Mountains

Highlight • Trail

The crystal-clear, cold water of the Isar, framed in the beautiful mountain landscape, with its single trails along the banks, is well worth seeing... and worth experiencing. :-)

View of the Lautersee

Highlight • Viewpoint

A beautiful swimming lake and starting point for the mountain tour to the Obere Wettersteinspitze. So don't forget your bathing suit on the way back - the refreshment after the strenuous mountain tour is simply wonderful!

Lautersee is a small mountain lake west of Mittenwald. It is located at an altitude of 1,013 m and is approximately twelve hectares in size. The deepest point is 19 meters and can be reached via easy paths. There are also two restaurants on the opposite bank: the Seehof Lautersee and the Lautersee-Alm.

Cycling Route Between Ferchensee and Lautersee

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

A beautiful cycle route along a wide gravel path. The real highlight is not the path itself, but the view: it is simply breathtakingly beautiful every time! To the east of the Isar you can see the Karwendel, to the west the Wetterstein Mountains.

Lake Ferchensee

Highlight • Lake

The Ferchensee above Mittenwald in summer is a beautiful lake with crystal clear water and a destination or break for mountain bike tours. In the inn on the bank you can strengthen yourself excellently and if you have desire and time, you can rent a mobile, floating subset for a round on the lake in the local boat rental.

Partenkirchen

Highlight • Settlement

When walking through the historic district of Partenkirchen, every step takes you back to times gone by. Follow in the footsteps of the fresco painter Heinrich Bickel, who decorated the Fraundorfer Inn on Ludwigstrasse with a magnificent peasant wedding.

You will also find the Werdenfelser Heimatmuseum nearby. Miraculously, the former merchant's house was spared from the flames during the great market fire in 1865. Today, you can learn about the history of the Werdenfelser Land on five floors.
