The Notre-Dame forest (2,200 hectares), most often called Notre-Dame wood, is a national forest in the eastern Paris region, located straddling the Val-de-Marne and Seine-et-Marne. It constitutes one of the most important massifs of the Parisian crown and participates largely in the “green belt” or Boisé Arc of the Parisian suburbs.

As such, the master plan for the Île-de-France region (SDRIF. Of 1994) issued a ban on building within 50 meters of the edges of the massif.

It is classified as a Type 2 Natural Area of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest (ZNIEFF) and included in the National Inventory of Natural Heritage.
