This is a pebble beach at high tide. Amroth is a lovely village with cafes, pubs and a shop – just make sure you check opening times. There's a car park just behind the village.

Not sure what this was in it's former life, but it's narrow, mostly tarmac'd and offers occasional glimpses out to sea. Quiet when I was on it, other than two or three runners. Winds had blown a lot of tree debris onto the surface. But no punctures.

A small, very pretty holiday resort.
Wide, flat sandy beach at low tide, but also plenty of space at high tide. Pretty harbor, breathtaking views from above.

Please note: between May 1st and September 30th, dog restrictions apply to the entire beach except for a small area just before Coppet Hall Beach.

Carew Cross

This exceptional, intricately engraved Celtic cross, measuring an impressive 13ft/4m tall, is seen as a memorial to a fallen Welsh king. A Latin inscription on the base of the monument has been translated as 'The cross of Margiteut, son of Etguin', which is thought to be a reference to Mareddud, a descendant of lawgiver Hywel Dda, who ruled the ancient kingdom of Deheubarth and in 1035 died in battle. In addition to the inscription, extensive patterns of knots and braids are carved into the cross.

Carew Castle

Carew Castle is set in a truly stunning location overlooking a 23-acre Millpond. The site also includes the only restored Tidal Mill in Wales, an 11th century Celtic cross, a Medieval bridge and picnic area. There is a National Parks operated tea room within the entrance to the Castle grounds. You don't have to pay the entry fee to the castle in order to use the visitor facilites.
