Dales Bike Centre Café & Cakery

Amazing cafe stop, fantastic food, great location, can't go wrong making this a mandatory cafe stop

Once you've left Grinton and have crossed the steep cattle grid, keep going straight on to reach Grinton Moor. (There's a turning on your right after the cattle grid to Greets Moor.) It's about a 4km climb in total, with a mid-section of 500 metres at 16 percent. Absolutely stunning views for miles on a clear day. Blustery on other days! The heather and its colours are at their best in late summer, early autumn, so prepare for a few photo stops.

Great ride up from Redmire through to the top of the moor past Army shooting ranges. Very quiet and great scenery especially early in the morning. Nice quick downhill into Grinton where there is a great bike shop with coffee stop.

Bedale is a thriving market town centred round a cobbled, Georgian square. It still continues its 750 year tradition of holding its market on a Tuesday. As it is on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales it makes for a great base for exploring further.

There are a number of great cafes in the town or for something cycling specific try the Tandem Cafe on the Bedale Road heading north east from the centre.

There a number of interesting historic buildings in Bedale, including Bedale Hall, the Leech House (used by an apothecary to store leeches) and the Old Grammar School.
