Cannock Chase Forest Trailhead

The starting point for your Cannock Chase trail centre rides! Here you'll find maps of each route as well as crucial trail closures information, as they constantly need upkeep to keep them flowing sweet.

Choose between the green-rated gravel road loop around the lakes, the new Perry's Trail blue-rated singletrack, or the red-rated trails Follow The Dog and Monkey Trail, with some very spicy black optional segments.

Perry’s Trail – Cannock Chase National Landscape

It's an amazing start to a mountain biking trail, riding under the Go Ape high ropes and obstacle course up in the trees. It's mostly flat too, which helps as you get your eye in on the smooth blue route. There are also some red optional sections along here if you're looking to test your skills.

BERMese Python (Blue) – Perry's Trail, Cannock Chase

A wonderful snaking section of berms on the blue-rated Perry's Trail between the pines that'll get you practicing your corners over and over. Hat's off to the trail builders here, this is a really fun feature for riders of all abilities.

Perry's Trail and Red Technical Section — Cannock Chase National Landscape

Highlight • MTB Park

Here the two trails criss-cross over each other, with the blue-rated Perry's Trail zig-zagging up the hillside on a smooth path. If you fancy a more challenging option, then take this red-rated section on the rock slabs more directly up the hill to rejoin the blue at the top. Both take some effort to get up the hillside, but the red is much more of a technical challenge!

Setting out on the green-rated Fairoak trail, the shared use gravel road leads you from the trail centre towards the pools through this section of magnificent tall pine trees.
