Rifugio Crucolo

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Managed by the same family for numerous generations, the Crucolo refuge stands at around 1,100 meters above sea level at the foot of Lagorai. Particularly worth trying here is Parampampoli, a liqueur that Giordano Purin invented in the 1950s by mixing together coffee, wine, grappa and sugar. However, you can also buy and taste cured meats and cheeses.

The Lagorai mountain range separating the Val di Fiemme from Valsugana is the most untouched part of Trentino. Between the Manghenpass and the Rolle Pass, the Lagorai stretches over a length of about 35 kilometers. Lagorai has always been the home of shepherds, leading their herds from the valleys to the high pastures. These meadows are the last green areas in front of the impressive cliffs of porphyry. Along the way, you will find quarries, abandoned paths, secured sections and, for today's times, extraordinary silence and only a few resting places. The trails in many cases fall back on old mule tracks and slopes, which were beaten during the First World War.

Five Crosses Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

From the Cinque Croci pass the view is truly satisfying: the panorama extends 360 degrees from the Lagorai chain to the suggestive Cima D'Asta, to the green pastures of the Campelle valley. The pass has this name because the territories of five pastures converge there: Valcion, Socede, Valsorda, Cengello and Consèria.

Super Service. 👍 Cheap accommodation including half board for 60 euros. And my wet bike clothes were also dried. Always my pleasure.

Passo Brocon

Highlight • Mountain Pass

An alpine pass that connects the Vanoi valley, the Tesino plateau and the Senaiga valley, the Brocon is located at an altitude of 1,616 meters between the municipalities of Canal San Bovo, Lamon and Castello Tesino. The toponym "Brocon" derives from the erica carnea plant, typically dark pink, commonly called brocon. The Brocon will be the absolute protagonist of the seventeenth stage of the Giro d'Italia 2024, when it will be climbed twice and will be the stage finish.

Castello Tesino Caves

Highlight • Cave

Discovered in the early twentieth century and studied throughout the century, the so-called Castello Tesino cave is located at an altitude of 960 metres. It is the only cave in Trentino equipped for tourist visits and stands on the right bank of the Senaiga stream. A karst cavity characterized by tunnels, arabesques, stalactites and stalagmites formed over the millennia, it offers a wonderful experience to those wishing to take part in the guided tours, which normally run from April to October.

Path without particular technical difficulties.
85% of asphalt and 15% of dirt (without which it is impossible to close the ring).
Ascent to Passo Brocon long but divided into 2 sections at Castello Tesino.
Ascent from Rifugio Refavaie is not trivial despite not having excessive slopes (some points max 13% -14% on very compact ground).
