June 19, 2024,🇮🇸 - Wanderung zum Svartifoss im Skaftafell National Park
Despite constant rain and only 8 degrees, we went on two hikes in full rain gear on the way from Vik to Höfn today. Once in (warning!) Fjoarglijufer Canyon and the second in Skaftafell National Park. It was an interesting experience but we wouldn't mind if the weather was better tomorrow.

Nice hike. There are several waterfalls along the way. Great view of the glacier

From the Visitor Center you can do various hikes with different levels of difficulty. They are not marked with the letters on the way. That's why you should remember beforehand (take a picture of the sign!) where you want to go. On the way you can also vary, or take the wrong path.

Showing Translation

Before we drive away from the coast for 2 days into the Icelandic highlands, we'll make a short hike en route to (what else?) two more waterfalls.
