Aldehuela de los Guzmanes Park

Highlight (Segment) • Rest Area

Bike path that passes right next to this beautiful park. It is the largest sports center in the entire city of Salamanca. The riverbank is equipped with tables, picnic areas and beach bars, so it is also a good place for a picnic.

Clavero Tower

Highlight • Monument

Located at the crossroads between Miñagustín street and Consuelo street we find the Torre del Clavero. It dates back to the 15th century and they say that it was built as part of the Palace of Don Francisco de Sotomayor who was a keystone maker, hence the name by which this unique building is known.
This building is one of the best known and typical of the city of Salamanca and was declared a national monument on June 3, 1931. Together with the Torre del Aire, they constitute the best of the urban fortifications built by the Salamanca nobility throughout the XV century.

Salamanca Cathedral

Highlight • Religious Site

The New Cathedral is one of the two cathedrals that the city of Salamanca has.
The need to build this building arose when what is now known as the Old Cathedral became small due to the boom of the city, due to the university activity, at the beginning of the 16th century. For its construction, help was requested from the Catholic Monarchs.
The works began in 1512, on a project by Gil de Ontañón, and ended in 1733, so this cathedral is one of the last manifestations of Spanish Gothic.
It was planned that the Old Cathedral would remain standing to allow worship until the construction of the New one was completed and that at that time it would be demolished. When the work was completed, more than two centuries later, the idea was reconsidered and, luckily, both buildings were preserved.

One of many sculptures found in the city. This also refers to an important for the Spanish literature novella about a young boy who led an old blind man. The boy Lazarillo is believed to have lived near the place of sculpture. It is outside the city wall at the beginning of the Roman bridge.

Roman Bridge of Salamanca

Highlight • Bridge

The Roman Bridge of Salamanca is part of the Vía de la Plata, which linked Mérida with Astorga. Although its origin is Roman, from the 1st century AD, only the fifteen arches closest to the city are from this period, the other eleven undergoing various reconstructions as a result of the floods of the Tormes.
