Memorial to the Victims of Communist Terror

Highlight • Monument

In 1993, this monument to the victims of communist terror was unveiled in front of the Komerční banka building. The design of the steeply rising stone pillar comes from Rudolf Svoboda. In the 1950s, the Pilsen monument to Josef Stalin stood here.

Women's Monument

Highlight • Monument

The monument in memory of the Czechoslovak-Soviet Treaty, made of granite and bronze, was created in 1985 by a collective of authors led by Rudolf Svoboda. The treaties bound Czechoslovakia, especially after 1948, closely to the Soviet Union and consolidated its role in the Warsaw Pact.
