Path of 1,000 Oaks

Highlight • Trail

The path of the 1000 oaks starts behind the village Schraden and leads along the castle Lindenau, further on the Pulsnitz and Neue Pulsnitz to the castle Großkmehlen. On the way at the castle Lindenau one sees many old oaks. If you come from the castle Lindenau on the way 'at the sports facilities' on the transverse Schwinzweg, it is a bit offset right into a pristine natural landscape. On a path, the path now leads along the Pulsnitz, over the fork weir, later on the New Pulsnitz to Großkmehlen. The path is partly very wild and overgrown, sometimes it leads across the field.

Original hiking trail along the Pulsnitz arm. One of the most beautiful trails in this area.

St. George's Church, Großkmehlen

Highlight • Religious Site

The church was first mentioned in a document in 1205.
Various modifications led to the current appearance.
Organ concerts take place regularly in the church.

The Kutschenberg - at 201 meters, the highest point in Brandenburg.
The last climb from the ski hut is quite steep. So be sure to put on proper shoes!

Rattelsberg Ski Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The ski hut was closed. No wonder if there is no snow in December.
However, the way the hut looks from the outside, I wouldn't be surprised if it were permanently closed.

Sunken Lane on Kuckucksberg

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

A wonderfully natural ravine leads you to the 192 meter high cuckoo mountain - or down. In autumn the path is deeply covered with leaves.
