A shaky bank. But a few meters away is a stable table and bench combination. Nice place.

St. Michael Church (Erfurtshausen)

Highlight • Religious Site

The three-nave classical hall church was built in 1852 by master builder Breithaupt from ashlar masonry. The façade in the southwest consists of the roof tower, in whose belfry hang five church bells with the tones g1, b1, c2, es2 and g2, and side adjoining rooms. The chancel in the north-east with its adjoining rooms is only slightly narrower than the nave. Both are covered with a common gabled roof.

The central nave and the choir each have a barrel vault inside, the side aisles each have a flat ceiling. The walls are structured with avant-corps and pilaster strips. The three naves are separated by Corinthian columns. The tabernacle from the second half of the 18th century is the rest of the high altar from the church of the Franciscan monastery in Fritzlar. The former high altar, now the side altar, the pulpit and the baptismal font come from the previous church. The confessional is from the construction period. The organ was built in 1859 by Johann Peter Dickel. The windows in the chancel were made from stained glass by Schneider and Schmolz in 1897.
