Lahn Spring (Lahn Source)

Highlight • River

In this idyllic spot is the source of the Lahn, which is hidden in a pond. Right next door is the forester's lodge and a few meters further along the road is a second country inn. You can stop and spend the night in both.

From Bad Laaspe via the Lahnquellweg to the spring. Return via the Lahnradweg (currently tree felling work on the first five kilometers, therefore extremely bad routes!!)

Showing Translation

The landscape is really great and the descent behind the source is fun.

The last stage was going to be tough. I couldn't leave the idyllic Auenland campsite in Lahntal until midday, it was so beautiful there 🏕🤩. A very nice final stage that really took my last bit of energy at the end 💪, but I'm always happiest in the evening when I'm really exhausted 🥰. An 8-part video series about this …

After 3 years, the first (and last) stage has finally been completed

We actually started in Biedenkopf, but komoot recorded the first 11 km extra! Doesn't matter! Beautiful first part of the Lahn cycle path 👍🏻 start and finish Biedenkopf! but the source itself was not impressive. Tour was a lot of fun

Showing Translation

I would do the tour the other way around, as I can imagine that the incline would be easier to manage.

Showing Translation

Wonderful tour in late summer. Again like in Wittgenstein, damp paths and even puddles.
