The Göhrener Viaduct is one of the most impressive German bridge structures from the early days of railway construction.
It connects the district of Göhren in Wechselburg and the district of Cossen in Lunzenau. At a height of 68 m and on two floors, it now spans the Zwickauer Mulde with a length of 381 m. The foundation stone was laid on May 27, 1869 and was completed two years later. At times, the imposing structure was worked with up to 5,000 workers and 340 horses. Until the renovation in 1982-86, the original length was 512 m.
Today the Chemnitz-Leipzig railway line crosses the Göhrener Bridge.

In this wonderful weather, walking through the autumn forest and mostly along the hollow is a pleasure. Unfortunately, the tour suddenly came to an end after more than half of it. After a bicycle breakdown, nothing more could be done and my wife had to pick me up in the car. What a pity.
