Kaltenhausen Manor

Highlight • Castle

The estate Kaltenhausen was built in 1480. He served as Vorwerk for the monastery Zinna, which was founded in 1170. Until 1553, the monastery existed, after which it was abandoned. The manor continued to be farmed, if only because a former village was slowly forming around the former monastery. In the year 1800 thus 125 people lived on the estate.

In 1832, the Bohnstedt family bought the Kaltenhausen estate and had the manor house rebuilt in the style of the Neubarock between 1902 and 1904. In the meantime, the manor housed a primary school.
