Maximilian Erbstollen

Highlight • Structure

The Maximilian Erbstollen, built between 1804 and 1855, was important for the drainage of the coal mines in Stockheim. The tunnel has its entrance under the parking lot of the ASS facility systems. The main tunnel section, lined with sandstone, is 560 meters long. The Rösche, which runs under the railway line and the B 85 and flows into the Haßlach river near Wolfersdorf, is 535 meters long. Depending on the weather and time of year, the water discharge is a maximum of 19 and a minimum of four liters per second.

Engelessteg Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

The 23 meter long and at least 2.5 meter wide Engelessteg over the Hasslach is a welcome shortcut for pedestrians and cyclists.
The twelve-ton bridge was renewed in 2017, turning the Engelessteg into a real bridge. The self-supporting steel construction cost 240,000 euros.
