October 14, 2022,Albschäferweg von Steinheim nach Zang am 14.10.2022
The 5th stage of the Albschäferweg runs from the Schafhof on the Busentalhalde near Steinheim to the forest car park near Zang. The highlights of this tour are the crater landscape near Steinheim and the hiking trail through the Felsenmeer in the Wental. The 14 km long hiking trail runs on paved and many unpaved paths.

Today was a tour to my liking! At first it looked rather bad weather-wise. It was snowing and storming and I wondered if I should actually start walking. But the weather report made me optimistic. Although I started relatively early, there were already footprints in the fresh snow. Only after 3.5 km was the route still virgin. The fresh snow …

On the Alb plateau, southeast of the neighboring municipality of Bartholomä, the Wental extends over the Essingen district to the Steinheim basin.
This unique natural landscape arose from the riverbed of the Wedel watercourse. When the Jurassic Sea withdrew and the Alb began to carburate about 150 million years ago, it gnawed deeper and deeper into the rock until it …

With a good breakfast in my stomach, the walk goes much better. Yesterday I was self-sufficient, caffeine-free, and with yesterday's rolls. 🙃

On the first climb, where the climb immediately starts steeply, a small group follows me... a girl with her trainers, wearing only shorts, a T-shirt, and a baseball cap, with a small backpack for a hydration bladder and …

We actually only planned to walk one stage, but as it happens, things always turn out differently than you think 🤣.
The idea was to park one car at the beginning and one at the end, but then our fellow hiker unfortunately fell ill overnight.
And because my husband still wanted to do it, a stage hike turned into a …

I saw the tour at @Ilona 🎒🥾 and saved it. Today I hiked it in the opposite direction. I was there early and started at -2°. There were still few rocks in the sea of rocks illuminated by sunlight 🌞🪨 - according to the weather report, the cirrus clouds should clear up by late afternoon😎. So I first went on …

The entry into the 5th stage was a bit bumpy..🥴 Unfortunately, the originally planned path was closed, which gave us about 800 meters next to a busy road..😝 But then we went straight on through a wonderful juniper slope, and the road was to forget. 😏 Today's stage also had a number of highlights in store with hiking through the …

The fifth stage of the Albschäferweg is history! Again I saw and experienced a lot, which I hope I won't forget anytime soon!

Like the last two days, the path was easy to follow today, as it was really well signposted! The muddy parts could be counted on one hand and were not particularly difficult to avoid.
