A rocky peak high above the valley on which a wooden deer visible from the valley floor is reminiscent of the legend according to which deer that were cornered here tried to save themselves by jumping from the rock.

The arched bridge of the Höllentalbahn, which ran between Triptis and Marxgrün, was in use from 1895 to 1945. After that, the railway line leading to Thuringia was discontinued. The Selbitz Viaduct is now a lost place.

At the end of the path is a water tower connected to a pipe. You basically walk around on it. Here's the information board.

Today, after more than 2 weeks of staying in bed, I got up and got some sun and energy.
We chose an extra gentle route and were rewarded with rushing water, sunshine, birdsong and the first spring flowers.
Anyone looking for peace and relaxation is in good hands in the Höllental. There are countless ways to explore and enjoy the …

Today a wonderfully quiet round on the Selbitz, through the Höllental 👹, shot 🤩
The path east of the Selbitz is definitely the most beautiful for hiking 😉
Since I'm a bit struck 🤧 the planned tour was rescheduled so that we can complete it in two days 🥾🐾🥾 with longer breaks 😆

My 300th komoot tour was on the agenda and I thought about which goal would be appropriate for it. 🥳🎉 Since I wanted to show my mother something outside of theleutenberg region anyway, I chose the Höllental in the Frankenwald Nature Park. 😊

The Höllental...always beautiful and you discover new and interesting details, even if you have been here countless times😊

The entrance to the Höllentalrunde is from the Humboldstraße hiking car park in Hölle. From there it goes on the tube path to the hydroelectric power station. Continue to the visitor center in Blechschmidtenhammer. The center is very informative and always worth a visit. A short detour to the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Stollen and the beautiful restaurant of the same name follows. The …

A hike through the beautiful Höllental Valley in the Franconian Forest is always worthwhile. Even in high temperatures, it's a wonderful place to walk in the shade along the Selbitz River. You almost feel like you're in the jungle. Simply a dream 😍.

I chose the valley path through Höllenthal for the return tour. After changing sides, we continued on the almost flat tube path. You walk on the filled-in 1.70m tubes that bring the water from the weir to the hydroelectric power station. Due to the altitude, you can enjoy a significantly better view of the beautiful valley.

After not doing anything for a whole week, today I gave myself a classic tour (again), namely THE round through the breathtakingly beautiful Höllental between Hölle and Blechschmidtenhammer.

I parked the car in the parking lot next to the former Hotel König David (there is now a rehabilitation facility there) and walked down the Selbitz along the Rohrensteig to Blechschmidtenhammer, …
