Olgafels

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Olgafels is one of the most magnificent viewpoints on the Rossfeld.

Due to its exposed location, you have a great almost 180° view. Otherwise, everything here is wooded and you can hardly see anything. This makes this viewpoint something very special.

Hell Holes Dettingen

Highlight • Gorge

At the Höllenlöcher, you can experience the erosion of the Swabian Jura up close. The Albtrauf is constantly moving further south, partly slowly and partly suddenly in massive rockfalls. Here you can see this erosion through fresh fracture edges in the rocks. Fascinating and adventurous!

Güterstein waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

The Güterstein Waterfall cascades into the neighboring valley just about one kilometer north of the much more famous Urach Waterfall and is considerably less visited than the latter. The waterfall cascades approximately 20 meters into a depth in two cascades, with a pool in between. Due to the high humidity, the vegetation is similarly lush to that of its larger brother. In earlier times, limestone was mined here, which the water washed out on its short journey from the Alb plateau, and which precipitates again in the cascades.

Stepped Path to Urach Waterfall

Highlight (Segment) • Waterfall

On nice days it gets so crowded that you have to queue, which is a bit too much for me personally.

Brühlbach Stream Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

From the Maisental parking lot, the trail continues along the Brühlbach stream. It's also wheelchair-accessible up to the steps in front of the Urach Waterfall. The numerous cascades in the stream and the crystal-clear water make the trail truly enjoyable. On weekends, it's advisable to set off early, as it gets quite crowded after lunchtime.
