Behind this is a rather extraordinary story about a retired lawyer who discovered his passion for Baroque garden design, when he saved two old tower vases of the basilica in Gößweinstein from rubbish recycling many years ago, set it up on his property and restored it painstakingly by hand. This route was recommended to me by Komoot when I was looking for a walk nearby. The valley sounded promising and we had always wanted to see the travertine terraces. The only annoying thing was a closed sign in the middle of the route and no sign on the other side. Something like that is a bit confusing when planning.
