Münden Rotunda

Highlight • Historical Site

The Rotunda is a former Zwinger tower that was part of the city fortifications.
Built at the beginning of the 16th century, it served to protect the city gate.
A remnant of the battlement can still be seen.

View of Tillyschanze

Highlight • Viewpoint

For me since childhood when I lived with my parents in Hann. Münden was the most beautiful view of Tilly Schanze. I always have that in mind when I think of Hann. Münden think!

City wall on the Fulda side of the town

Highlight • Historical Site

The Münden city fortifications consisted of a city wall with defensive towers and city gates built in the Middle Ages, which surrounded the city of Münden (today Hann. Münden). The wall, which was probably built in 1200, protected the city and the later Welfenschloss Münden from attacks. Of the original 26 towers, bulwarks and gates, 12 buildings and individual sections of the city wall have survived to this day, some only rudimentarily.

If you are coming with an e-bike, do NOT go past the Berghotel (elevating trail) but take the delivery route to the restaurant via the Pioneer Road. Restaurant for a year with a new operator. This is also where the indigenous people meet themselves. Clean. Orderly. Bratcurrywurst with fries very tasty and priced absolutely fine. The homemade curry sauce tastes great.

May 26, 2023,Hann. Münden - Weserstein - Tillyschanze - Fulda
Beautiful hike starting in Hann. mouths. First it goes through the old town of Hann, which is well worth seeing. Münden with a detour to the Weserstein, then up to the Tillyschanze and through the woods with a subsequent "descent" to the Fulda. The last stage on the paved Fulda cycle path back to Hann. Münden was not so nice …

Enchanted Hannoversch Münden 🏘💚

The tour started through the tranquil old town, past the church of St. Blasius and the town hall with its magnificent entrance, to the old Werra bridge. From there we continued over the Mühlenbrücke to the Weserstein ⛪️🌁💦
