Giessenbach Gorge

Highlight (Segment) • Gorge

The Gießenbachklamm is an easy going gorge. There are a few steps (just under 100) until you're up, so unfortunately not suitable for strollers. Otherwise very suitable for children.
No danger spots and entertaining. No entry.

1st day of vacation in wonderful weather. The journey went really well and so it was time to stretch our legs from Kiefersfelden. We followed the signs for the Kieferer Energy Hiking Trail. It took us past a large hydroelectric snail and along the water to the largest mill wheel in Bavaria (Miss Soffi😅), which impressed us greatly. Then through …

We were here about 3 years ago, but in the other direction 😃 Interesting how different the same route is the other way around. We couldn't remember some of the steeper sections 😅

Today's excursion took us to Kiefersfelden. From a parking lot, we headed toward the Gießenbachklamm Gorge. There, we admired the beautiful views and nature. Afterwards, we added a lovely loop around Hechtsee. The two of us 👣👣

The Schopperalm is a popular excursion destination near Kiefersfelden. For children there is a petting area, a playground and a bobby car downhill track. A visit to the alpine pasture is most often combined with a hike through the Gießenbachklamm. The climb starts at the large water wheel at the entrance to the Gießenbachklamm in Kieferbachtal to the Schopperalm. At …

Today we had actually planned a three-lake tour: Hechtsee, Längsee and Pfrillsee. But due to the storms of the last few days near Kufstein, the hiking trail to Längsee and Pfrillsee is closed today and tomorrow due to forestry work.
So we changed our plans and only went to Hechtsee and then to the Alm 👍😅.
