Stadtplatz Fountain Monolith

The fountain in the town square - The triangular source stone is a monolith from which water gushes out in three places. The water symbolizes change and alternation. It tells the history of the city and its emergence as an island between the arms of the Danube.

The images and symbols carved into the stone invite the viewer to ask questions and to combine: the gilded fox, ornaments such as the zigzag ribbon and the coat of arms or the sundial, which reminds of the passing of time and thus also of the history of the city. The fountain was created in 1993 by the sculptors Ludwig Hauser and Anja Böcker.
