Adamishütte Shelter

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Unperceived by the public, it was already 100 years old in 2015: the "Adamishütte". This hut was in its origin a refuge for horses and teammates who certainly stayed overnight on their long journey. In 1915, the real municipality of that time provided space for the construction and also donated the necessary wood. The former owners of the estate Langenholzen, the family Adami, financed the construction costs by a donation of 200, - Reichsmark. As a thank you, the name of the building was originally named "Adami Hütte". This explains the affiliation of the hut to Langenholzen. But the Alfeld manufacturers C. Meyer and C. Bescheidt generously supported the construction of the hut. In 1979, the hiker's hut was renewed in log wood, but already fell victim to a fire in the night of 03. to 04. July 1986 and was complete robbery of the flames. The reconstruction of the hut in our after-image took place in the following year and was inaugurated on the 1st of May 1987 and since then enjoys great popularity again not only with hikers.

Himmelberg Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

Himmelberg Tower
On the tower of the Himmelberg, the visitor has a phenomenal view of the Leinebergland, with a good view you can even see the Brocken (Harz) from here.

The Himmelbergturm can be reached within a 20-minute walk from the Adamishütte. The forerunners of today's tower consisted of a viewing platform in a heavily forked tree, which already existed around 1900. In 1930 an iron structure was completed, which lasted until 1984.

Today's concrete construction has been in existence since 1985, which makes it possible to climb 119 steps by 22m on the 307m high Himmelberg. The current tower is 5m higher than the former steel structure ... View of Alfeld and the Leinebergland

Lippold's Cave

Highlight • Cave

Robber Lippold
About an hour west of Alfeld, at the village of Brunkensen, lies the Lippoldshöhle. It consists of several rooms, one of which is called the kitchen, another is called the horse stable. A column in the rock is called the chimney. The robber Lippold used to live in this cave. So that one could not trace him so easily, he knocked down his horse's horseshoes. On all the paths that passed, he had attached wires that connected with a bell in the cave. If one of you passed by and hit the wire with your foot, the bell soon rang. Then Lippold came out of his cave, shot down the man and robbed him.
