Słupski Weksel Shelter

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The word promissory note meant in a railway dialect borrowed from German - a switch. From there, you could travel in different directions. Originally, the main railway line turned south here towards Saint Catherine. The expansion towards the Holy Cross was made in 1923-1924. The investment was realized by the company "Aleksander hr. Szeptycki i Fussmann i Ska ”, who at that time leased the Zagnański sawmill. The author of the design of this episode was Eng. Józef Kubala from Suchedniów. During World War II, the German occupier started building a third track leading to the mine in Rudki. This tour was never completed
and a few years after the war the tracks were dismantled.

Interestingly, during the construction of this section, the workers found a hidden treasure; under the roots of a thick fir, where a total of several kilograms of silver coins - tsarist 10-kopeck coins were found. This deposit is related to the fact that he was often camped in the vicinity of the insurgent parties in the years 1863–1864. The discovery was divided between the workers employed in the construction of the queue. Other interesting archaeological finds that were found in 1925 during earthworks on the railway in the Łysogóry area are: a medieval sword from the 13th century, currently stored in the Polish Army Museum, and two spurs.

Very interesting description of the place, if there is no time to read on the spot, I recommend taking a photo and completing the news after the trip.

Świętokrzyski Pilgrim Emeryk

Highlight • Monument

The Świetokrzyskie Mountains are undoubtedly attractive, but the parking fee near Pilgrim is a scandal and robbery in broad daylight😬ps. Beer at the inn for a price like on the French Riviera 😂

Puszcza Jodłowa Forest

Highlight • Forest

The Jodłowa Forest is the heart of the Świętokrzyski National Park, encompassing vast forests dominated by ancient firs and beeches. It is one of the most valuable forest complexes in Poland, protected since the interwar period. The most famous trail running through the forest is the red trail to Łysa Góra, leading through picturesque, wild areas. Among the attractions, it is worth mentioning the gołoborza, or rocky rubble, and the rich fauna, including deer, wild boars and rare species of birds. It is a great place for hiking and cycling, especially in autumn, when the forests take on extraordinary colours. It is worth stocking up on good shoes, because the trails can be slippery, especially after rain.

Holy Cross Monastery (Święty Krzyż)

Highlight • Religious Site

The Holy Cross and Łysa Góra have been places of worship for centuries, first pagan, and from the 12th century Roman Catholic. It is worth stopping here, because it is a true monument and a place with a considerable history.
