Whitewater kayaking track in Krakow - whitewater kayaking track located at ul. Kolna 2 in Kraków. It is located in the Bielańsko-Tyniec Landscape Park, next to the Benedictine abbey in Tyniec. The track runs along the Vistula River, and at the kayak track there is a water tram stop on the route from the city center to Tyniec.
In 2004, the whitewater kayaking track, as one of eight centers in the world, was awarded the rank of a Continental Slalom Kayaking Training Center under the patronage of the International Canoe Federation (ICF), and is also the subject of Olympic preparations of the Polish Kayak Association (PZKaj).
The track hosts, among others: rafting (rafting), kayaking and water rodeo shows. Thanks to the damming of water in the starting pool, water polo training and matches can also be organized here. The facility meets the requirements of an Olympic training center. It serves as the main training base for PZKaj whitewater kayaking.

View of Wartenberg Castle

Highlight • Viewpoint

From here you have a beautiful view of the castle.

History:
Adolf Szyszko-Bohusz built the Villa Baszta between 1928 and 1929 on the Przegorzały Rock, which had previously been acquired from the Camaldolese monastery. The villa was confiscated by the German occupiers in 1940 and moved into by the district governor Otto Wächter. Wächter also had Szyszko-Bohusz design the Wartenberg Castle, which was built next to the villa between 1942 and 1943, but was moved to Lviv in 1942 before it was completed and the building was initially empty. Governor General Hans Frank gave the castle as a gift to Heinrich Himmler during his visit to Krakow in 1943, who intended it to be a sanatorium for the SS and Luftwaffe officers. The castle was to be connected to the Vistula Valley by a cable car, but this was not realized. The castle was used as a military hospital at the end of 1944. On January 18, 1945, it was occupied by the Red Army. The building is currently used by the Jagiellonian University. The lower floors are leased to catering establishments (restaurants, cafes).

The Father Bernatek Pedestrian & Cyclist Bridge, built in 2010, replaces the historic Podgórski Bridge. The Pedestrian & Cyclist Bridge is surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the Vistula River and offers a view of two districts of Kraków: Podgórze and Kazimierz.

The Father Bernatek Bridge has become a symbol of Kraków, attracting both residents and tourists from all over the world.
