This morning we reached Stettin, the first stop on our tour of Poland.

Brief historical overview:

Middle Ages: Originally a Slavic castle, Stettin was Christianized in the 12th century and became the seat of the Dukes of Pomerania. In 1243 it received Magdeburg town rights and became a powerful member of the Hanseatic League.
