Almijara Square, Cómpeta

Highlight • Settlement

Cómpeta is one of the beautiful white villages of Andalusia. The narrow narrow and steep streets are fascinating. The square in front of the church is perfect for a coffee break.

Torrox Lighthouse

Highlight • Monument

The lighthouse began to function in 1864. In 1905, the lighthouse keeper was a man named Tomás García Ruiz, who after studying, became interested in archaeology. He began to excavate around the lighthouse and discovered the ruins of what was the Roman city of Clavicum with its salt factories, which later served as a necropolis. Some hot springs and a pottery workshop where amphorae for salty products were made were also discovered. The Torrox lighthouse is the only one that is still in operation, so today it houses the Museo del Mar.
