Longmoor Military Railway Terminus

Highlight • Historical Site

Military land which you will sometimes need to avoid if the flags are flying. Great for getting the miles in and staying off road.

Liss Village Centre

Highlight • Settlement

Liss is a pleasant Hampshire village with plenty of pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops, and other attractions to keep you entertained.

While the area has been inhabited since the Neolithic era — as demonstrated by some great archaeological finds nearby — Liss first appeared in the Domesday Book of 1086 (as Lyss) and there are many historic buildings to explore.

Butser Fast Descent

Highlight • Viewpoint

A fast descent and be careful of walkers coming up. Some bumpy sections so be careful if you don’t have a full suspension bike.

Butser Hill

Highlight (Segment) • Viewpoint

At 889 feet (271 m), Butser Hill is the highest point on the South Downs Way. It offers fabulous views across Hampshire and a glimpse of the south western corner of Sussex and the English Channel beyond. Directly below, you can see the A3 snaking though the valley.

The steep climb (or descent) consists of an open grassy track, and there's a kiosk at the top of the hill in the car park selling food and drink.

The hill is also a popular spot for paragliding and kite flying, owing to its open space and strong winds.

Queen Elizabeth Country Park

Highlight • Trail

Here, cut through by the South Downs Way, is an excellent bike park, festooned with a variety of mountain bike trails to suit a variety of abilities. It can get a little over-faced in truly wet weather, but it's the best place or miles around for mtb-related thrills.
