Strange and unexpected discovery: a "micro-forest" in London. Not possible to cycle across, and good boots/wellies would be recommended : )

Sydenham Hill Folly

Highlight • Historical Site

The ruins on Sydenham Hill look like an old monastery but are actually much newer. An old mansion once stood in these grounds, Fairwood. The folly was built in the Victorian Era as a way of showing off the wealth of the landowner and enthralling their visitors.

Crystal Palace Dinosaurs

Highlight • Monument

A Grade I listed site since 2007, these sculptures have been unveiled in 1854 as the first dinosaur sculptures in the world. The 15 models are notable for representing the scientific inaccuracies of early paleontology, the result of improperly reconstructed fossils and the nascent nature of the science in the 19th century.
