Goring-on-Thames village

Highlight • Trail

Goring-on-Thames is a large, unspoilt village in the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is on the Thames' eastern side, with the village of Streatley occupying the other. They are linked by the Goring and Streatley Bridge.

There is fantastic walking on the Goring Gap outcrop, with some lovely, colourful woodland trails. The Ridgeway National Trail passes through the village, whilst the Swan's Way ends here on its journey from Salcey Forest in Northamptonshire.

This conservation area is set on the hillside above the River Thames and offers plenty of walks and views. Under the care of the Wildlife Trusts, Hartslock is a woodland and grassland area teeming with rare species. From the vibrant forests to the soaring views across the Thames, Hartslock is a wonderful place to explore.
