Ancient Beech Forests of Jasmund National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Highlight • Forest

The path and the arrangement of the trees is just gorgeous. Many plants and animals can be discovered there.

The forest floor dampens our steps, we are surrounded by tall beech trees, the leaves rustle, the waves too - what an incredibly calming atmosphere.

The forest opens up, revealing a view of the steep bank and the Baltic Sea. Always magnificent! But be careful on the cliff edge.

A trip to the Königsstuhl is well worth it. You only have until September to visit the platform on the Königsstuhl. In the spring of 2023, the new viewing platform …

For me the most beautiful way to the Königsstuhl. From Lohme it is always very close to the cliffs along the national park center and the Victoria view.
Sturdy shoes are recommended.

...I forgot one thing: the tour is taking longer than planned. Please don't ask why. And the center of Königsstuhl is basically a day trip. Unless you take the tourist version with a shuttle. Then it's only half a day.

Cool path through the forest.
Unfortunately, the lower bank path was later closed and we had to switch to the upper bank path.

Today we went on a very interesting hike starting and finishing in Lohme, in the "town center." The route leads up through the forest, with the sound of the sea in our ears – not an everyday occurrence! 😄 At the turnaround point, we saved ourselves the entrance fee to the information center because of the many buses. A few …

A little information in advance for the "non-Northeasterners"...
so like us so far... 😊

Stubbenkammer is the name given to the immediate area around the striking Königsstuhl chalk cliff in the Jasmund National Park on the island of Rügen and comes from the Slavic meaning step (stopin) and rock (kamen).

From the parking lot in Lohme briefly through the town to the harbor and from there along the shore path and proportionately over the pebble and stone beach directly on the sea in the direction of the Königsstuhl. With always great views through the beech forest.
The smallest national park in Germany and the stock of beech trees (some of …

It's a shame that you have to attract mass tourism with such a skywalk. Why don't you build it so that the buses can drive over it, for 7.6 million it should be possible.

But the old view at the Königstuhl was much better!! Unfortunately, the new platform was not profitable for us at 12 euros per person 🙁

Showing Translation

On this tour you can in principle choose between the upper and lower riverside hiking trails. The lower one ends on the stone beach below the Könisstuhl. Since the ascent is currently blocked, the upper 😊 is currently recommended
