Bridge over the Alster

Highlight • Bridge

The Alster hiking trail is always beautiful. Some places are difficult to see, please show mutual consideration.

Here is a particularly beautiful place on the Alster, also because there is a shallow access to the water, where people and dogs can cool off a little. It is worthwhile to just stop here and take a break.

Hansdorfer Brook Nature Reserve

Highlight (Segment) • Forest

The path was re-paved in summer 2020. Now not quite as idyllic, but easy to navigate even after rain.

Wittmoor Heath Trail

Highlight • Trail

This is actually one of the most beautiful sections through the Wittmoor. Here you can see its width and although it looks very sandy, you can drive here well!

Very nice section on the Alster. Apart from the racing bike, every type of bike can be used. Beware some confusing / poorly visible curves.

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The whole Alster hiking trail is recommended for a bike tour. You have to be considerate of pedestrians. So it's not a racetrack.

Fantastic gravel tour!
Beautiful sceneries and adventurous trails that demand some concentration as well as paths that allow you to pace.
Please be mindful of the people walking the trails on foot.
That was such a nice tour again 😃
driving through the leaves 🍁.

Nice gravel bike tour. Many gravel and forest paths, but also country roads to get started 😀

I liked it so much that I shared my first tour.

Start in the city, but thanks to the Alster runs you are quickly in the countryside.

If I needed a reason to go on a bike ride, it would have been to test out the new harness today 😅
It fits perfectly, now I can finally optimize my bikepacking setup 😎
Besides, it's only four weeks away, so it's time to pedal a bit more often and for longer 😁

Today, I borrowed my neighbor's Edge Explore 2 to see if we could become friends. I tested the route via the airport, Hummelsee, Hummelberg, Wittmoor, Gut Wulksfelde, and Duvenstedter Brook to see how the Edge would handle it. The route actually ended up being very similar to my usual route, so the Edge could actually be helpful for bikepacking in …

Started at 7 a.m. at 2 degrees, returned home at 11 a.m. at 14 degrees with rolls in the A-rocket for family breakfast.
In between, a nice quick lap around the airport, a good scramble on the garbage mountain at Hummelsee and espresso and pastries at Gut Wulksfelde. Not to forget the sunny Wittmoor and the always friendly Duvenstedter Brook. …
