With the Sommeracher Katzenkopf, the municipality boasts one of Franconia's most famous vineyards. Wine shapes the village in many ways. Franconia's oldest winegrowers' cooperative was founded here in 1901. The annual Altort Wine Festival is the centerpiece of the festival calendar. The centuries-old cultural landscape of the wine island, with the vine-covered Kreuzberg at its center, attracts tourists, as does the largely preserved early modern town center, which has won numerous awards. Sommerach boasts a partially intact town wall with two intact gates. The Catholic Eucharius Church forms the centerpiece of the village. In addition, numerous Häcker houses and, not least, the former official buildings of the village lords form a remarkable ensemble.
