Old railway line

Highlight • Cycleway

The eventful history of rail traffic in the Offenbach - Dieburg - Reinheim - Ober Roden - Dreieich region can be read in the 2019 yearbook of the Heimatverein. Karlheinz Braun provides information about sections of track that were built from 1896 and partially shut down again. In the sign of the turnaround in traffic, which is considered urgently necessary, such a rail connection would probably not be shut down.

Dieburg Castle Garden

Highlight • Structure

The complex once belonged to the former Stockau Castle on the Gersprenz, which was also known as Groschlag'sches Schloss after the noble family. It was built from 1687 by Philipp von Groschlag, who moved into it with his family after its completion in 1699. After the death of the last member of the noble dynasty, the building changed hands several times. However, its last owner, the Austrian Colonel von Brüselle, never came to Dieburg. On his behalf, his administrator Kraft von Dieburg had the castle completely demolished after all materials had been sold in 1857.
