San Martino della Battaglia Tower

A few kilometers from Desenzano del Garda is an important place in the history of Italy - San Martino della Battaglia. This place is known for the battle between Italians and Austrians that took place on June 24th, 1859.
In memory of that bloody event where tens of thousands of people lost their lives, a 74-meter tower was built between 1880 and 1893.
Every night, three light beams of the Italian tricolor are reflected on the top of the tower.
