The Vierdaagsebos was created on the occasion of the 100th Nijmegen Four Days Marches in 2016. The DE 4DAAGSE Foundation is committed to sustainability and green walking routes. That is why the Vierdaagsebos was planted during the National Tree Day Celebration in Park Lingezegen in 2014. Primary school children planted more than 3000 trees and shrubs at this location. In the coming years, the young trees will grow into a beautiful new forest, where hundreds of Four Days Marches walkers pass by every year.

Next to the Vierdaagsebos there is a monument, information panel and a bench. This bench, as a resting point for walkers under a young walnut tree, has been offered to Park Lingezegen by Stichting DE4DAAGSE.

The Vierdaagsebos is located between the A325 and the RijnWaalpad, near the Breedlersestraat in Elst. It is one of the ecological stepping stones that have been constructed in Park Lingezegen.
