Old Brussels-Tervuren railway line

In 1877 it was decided to build a railway line between the station of the Brussels Leopold district and Tervuren. In 1882 the line was a fact. In 1931 it became the first operational electrified railway line in Belgium. The decline started in the early 1950s, with a final end in 1970.
The unused site was given a new use as a pedestrian promenade, embedded in greenery, with regular benches and connections to the adjacent parks. The 6 km stretch is a popular walking and cycling route; it can be very busy.

Springs Park
