Esterli Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Esterli Tower is a reinforced concrete observation tower south of Lenzburg.
Situation
The tower, built in 1974, is made up of 19 concrete pipe elements, each 2.50 meters high, and has a total height of 48 meters. The observation platform, 45 meters high, is accessible via a staircase inside the tower with 253 steps. 18 slightly offset narrow windows provide lighting. This tower is not the first at this location. The first Esterli Tower was built from wood in 1906.

Hiking trails lead from Egliswil to the observation tower in about 15 - 20 minutes.

The tower offers a panoramic view from the Black Forest to the Alps. Eight panoramic panels from 1977/1978 inform visitors about the possible view and the technical data of the tower.

Naming
On the western side of the Esterli Tower you can find the name "Esterli" on the national map. This used to be the cattle passage in the grazed forest between Lenzburg and Egliswil. The first

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The locals call the prison "Hotel / Café 5-Star" ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
The prison is built in a star shape. I don't know whether the quality of the cells is worth five stars.

Bench by the Aabach

Highlight • River

A hike from Lenzburg to Hallwyl Castle is always worthwhile. Along the Aabach you can always find cozy places to take a break. Possibly Boat landing stage at Hallwyl Castle, a leisurely cruise around the lake. Everything can be reached with OeV.

Aabach

Highlight • River

The Aabach flows from the Hallwilersee and flows at Wildegg in the Aare. Large parts are still natural and on weekends a popular destination.
