In 1984 our father, Alfred Pierer Senior, himself a keen hiker, decided to build a rustic hut on the Teichalmsee, where he fed hungry hikers with specialties from the region. At that time, the Latschenhütte accommodated around 32 people. In 2020, 36 years later, our LAHÜ is four times larger and has long been known and loved far beyond the borders of the Almenland by hikers, skiers, cross-country skiers, families and party enthusiasts alike.
