The mountain tour to the Maldongrat is short, but partly exposed and involves easy climbing in the summit area. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are a prerequisite for this panoramic tour, which leads from the Hahntennjoch to an altitude of 2,544 meters.

We started at the top of the Hahntenjoch pass.

We climbed the Steinjöchle in a relaxed but sweltering heat. This can be reached relatively quickly in about 45 minutes.

After a long period of abstinence from the mountains, with clouds in the sky and a bad weather forecast (in fact, there were mudflows over the Hahntennjoch Pass the following night), a short tour was needed.
