Safari Park Pillars:
The Safaripark pillars had to give way in the course of the Gänserndorf-Süd bypass and have now found a suitable place in the roundabout near the Emmaus Church. In the course of this, artist Manfred H. Bauch restored the columns he had created. In the roundabout there are now zebra, leopard, tiger, elephant, okapi, axis deer and giraffe. The columns were made of fiber cement pipe, concrete and ceramics with a painted surface in linear relief.

Schönkirchner Gate:
Like a reincarnation, the two columns are reminiscent of the chimney of the nearby former brick factory, which was blown up in 1980. The material from which was salvaged, cleaned and reused here with the help of many volunteers. The columns were built in 1999 from old walls and chimney bricks.
The name "City of Columns" was mentioned for the first time in 2000 in the exhibition of the artist Manfred Hermann Bauch. The idea of the art project was to emphasize entering and leaving the city area with columns.
Gradually, other objects in the public space were integrated in the form of columns.
