Mostviertel Cycle Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

Near Pyburg in the Mostviertel region, the cycle bridge spans the underwater channel of the Enns Canal, connecting both banks. It is part of the Enns-Danube Cycle Route and allows cyclists to cross the canal safely and comfortably. The bridge runs through a natural setting with riparian forests and river landscapes, offering clear views of the surrounding cultural landscape of the Mostviertel.

St. Pantaleon Church with an Ancient Crypt

Highlight • Religious Site

The exact date of the church's construction is unknown, but it was probably not built before 1400. Its core is Gothic. The church initially had a flat wooden ceiling, which was vaulted in 1641. The north-facing extension was completed in 1640, and the south-facing extension in 1644/46. The Gothic tower in the west was heightened and given a Baroque makeover in 1674.

On February 8, 1786, St. Pantaleon separated from St. Georgen im Gau Salzburg and became an independent parish. St. Pantaleon has been a place of pilgrimage since 1607.

Enns Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

Anyone who crosses this bridge enters "ground" steeped in history. After 1945, this bridge was the border between the Russian and US-American zones of occupation and one of the most heavily guarded spots in Austria after 1945.
