Peace Bridge over the River Traun

Highlight • Bridge

There is something to see here. On the one hand the beautiful Traun, which is very clear here and shimmers in the most beautiful colors, on the other hand the papermaking museum, which is right next door, which conveys the history of papermaking in an interesting way.

Following a design by the Ebebsee sculptor Johann Kienesberger, Prizovsky created a bronze sculpture "Flößermadonna" (Raftsman Madonna).
This work of art was erected in 1984 on a stone base on the right bank of the Traun, in the area of the original Traun crossing, where the footbridge now leads across the Traun.
This sculpture was stolen in 2012, and in 2019 it was replaced by a plastic reproduction and inaugurated.

View of Traunfall from the Bridge

Highlight • Waterfall

The wooden bridge (Der Steg) was built in 2000 by the municipalities of Roitham and Desselbrunn on the foundations of the old bridge and renewed in 2018.
Until the construction of the large arched bridge at the current location in 1925, the "Steg" was the only traffic connection between the two communities.

Traunfall Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

About 200 meters wide and 12 meters deep, this waterfall is quite impressive - even if it is by no means natural in this form. At least, since about the 16th century, when the natural waterfall here was made "mobile". Today runs here an underground watercourse, with which the hydroelectric power station Traunfall is operated. It is and always will be impressive.
