Luzern Hinterland Rigi Cycleway

Highlight • Cycleway

The Luzern Hinterland Rigi Cycleway is on a very smooth and well-kept cement cycleway, always offering a nice constraint between the majestic mountains of the alps and the agricultural landscape with small chapels, half-timbered houses and barns.

Bruderklausen Church Sigigen

Highlight • Religious Site

Sigigen (Swiss German Sigige) is a town that belongs to the municipality of Ruswil in the Swiss canton of Lucerne.
It is a scattered settlement with its own church and a primary school building, which is surrounded by meadows and farmland. The farms Berge in the north, Grabe in the southeast and Farnere in the southwest are generally considered to be the unwritten demarcation from Ruswil, the Holz and Werthenstein. The natural topographic boundaries also include the Ämmeberg in the south of the municipality, the Sigigerwald in the east and the Schächbelerwald
in the West. The highest point in the municipality of Ruswil is in Sigigen near the Graubaum and Tschepperslehn farms at 856 m above sea level. M. The Heiterbach rises near this point, which flows to the southwest via the Bielbach and flows into the Kleine Emme near Werthenstein.

View of Pilatus from Malters Climb

Highlight • Viewpoint

If you drive out of Malters towards Hellbühl, you drive over the bridge of the expressway. Turn left immediately after the bridge and you're in the district. The climb starts off quite steeply, around 10% most of the time. So it's definitely advisable to bring a good base or a motor 😉. The road is hardly used. Almost at the top, it flattens out a bit before there's a final short climb. But this is absolutely worth seeing! The left turn offers a fantastic view of the distance and the snow-covered mountains. If you look to the right, you can admire the Pilatus in all its glory. Definitely worth a trip.

An relatively unknown cycleway to even most Swiss. This cycleway is on very smooth concrete surface. This cycleway wanders through the hinterland always offering a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. The rolls up an down many fields, meadows and half-timbered houses.

Hellbühl Descent

Highlight • Trail

The view is amazing! The descent is short but beautiful and easy to ride. The climb up from Malters is also quite nice, but there is always a lot of traffic. So my recommendation: plan the route so that you can use this route as a descent.
