The region was a powerful political center in ancient Trøndelag. Very close by, on the historic Rimul farm, the dramatic end of Håkon Jarl took place in 995, one of Norway's last pagan rulers, who hid there in a pigsty.

We were served a typical Norwegian meal here: a soup with potatoes, meatballs, pieces of meat and carrots. Then came a delicious dessert. Tasty and filling.
